Eastern View: Protecting Great Ocean Road coastal areas
Work is underway at Eastern View to protect the foreshore and Great Ocean Road from coastal erosion, DELWP BarwonSouthWest said.
“Machinery is on-site and moving around, so we’re asking everyone to follow all signage and stay safe, including keeping dogs on leashes in the area,” said the organization.
This is a $2 million project that includes construction of a section of rock revetement at the Devil’s Elbow carpark and rock bag protection for car parks and power poles north to the Memorial Arch.
This follows a listening post event held earlier this year for community members to have their say about the next steps for coastal erosion management at Eastern View.
These works are a partnership between the DELWP and the Great Ocean Road Coast and Parks Authority
The project should be completed by the end of November 2022.
