Rohde Nielsen completes Poti Port dredging program

Rohde Nielsen has successfully finished the capital dredging works in Port of Poti, Georgia.

The project involved disposal of 33.000m3 polluted soils onshore as well as dredging of 1.350.000m3 clean sandy soils, for the client Poti New Sea Port LLC, BHP International.

“The trailing suction hopper dredger (TSHD) Sif R, assisted by our survey vessel Ratatosk R, performed the job impeccably,” said the company.

The Poti Sea Port is the largest port in Georgia, handling container, liquids, dry bulk cargo and passenger ferries.

The multi-purpose facility has 15 berths, a total quay length of 2,900 meters, more than 20 quay cranes and 17 km of rail track.
