The trailing suction hopper dredger (TSHD) Scald is currently busy on a dredging project in Nieuwpoort, Belgium, on behalf of Jan De Nul.
After the dredging works in Harwich, UK, and some weeks of maintenance dredging in combination with sand deliveries in the Port of Stellendam, the Netherlands, the TSHD was deployed to Belgium, the dredger’s owner Faasse Dredging said.
Under the Nieuwpoort scheme, the TSHD will conduct some maintenance dredging (removal of sand and silt) in the fairway.
The next destination will be Blankenberge, Faasse said.
