American International Contractors Inc. and Archirodon Construction Co. have won a $63.8 million firm-fixed-price contract to dredge a harbour at the King Abdulaziz Naval Base.

Bids for this project were solicited via the internet with four received, the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) said.

Work will be performed in Al-Sharqiyah, Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia, with an estimated completion date of June 26, 2023.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Middle East District, is the contracting activity.

The King Abdulaziz Naval Base is located about 7.5 km southeast of Jubail. It is only 900 meters from the shore of Persian Gulf.

The aim of King Abdulaziz Naval Base is to provide technical help to foreign personnel in the operating, maintaining, and tactical employment of weapons and support systems and also in skills relating to military functions. They also provide in-country technical help and training when these needs can’t be satisfied by the teams at King Abdulaziz Naval Base.
