ZPMC ready to deliver another newbuild dredger (VIDEO)

Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. (ZPMC) is wrapping up 2021 in style with delivery of a 3500m³ self-propelled trailing suction hopper dredger, the Hangjun 3011.

Earlier this month, the Hangjun 3011 successfully completed four-day sea trial in the Yellow Sea and is now ready for delivery to her owners Shanghai Dredging Co. (SDC), reported ZPMC.

Being the first Chinese self-developed trailing suction hopper dredger equipped with domestic automation system, the Hangjun 3011 comes with a high intelligence level and production efficiency.

Featuring dual-fuel engines and two propellers, the newbuild has a length of 95m, breadth of 21.8m and depth of 7.2m. With the hopper capacity of 3,500m³, the dredger is capable of dredging at depths of 30m with a speed of 12 Knots.

According to the shipbuilder, the Hangjun 3011 is perfect for maintenance dredging missions in shallow waters and can dredge silt, clay, muddy sand, medium-fine sand, coarse sand, gravel and pebbles.
