Vital role of TSHD Vox Amalia in Poland

A channel that connects Szczecin and Świnoujście is currently being deepened by a joint-venture between Van Oord and DEME.

Van Oord’s newest trailing suction hopper dredger, Vox Amalia, has a vital role in upgrading this important waterway.

The dredger has a length of 158 meters, a width of 36 meters and a load capacity of 18,000 cubic meters.

This vessel is part of Van Oord’s new generation of trailing suction hopper dredgers with a focus on energy efficiency for the smallest possible carbon footprint.

Szczecin and Świnoujście are the closest seaports for the areas of western and south-western Poland, which are home to the most significant industrial areas of the country.

This project will improve access to the Szczecin seaport and will increase the port capacity to handle a growing volume of cargo.
