Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) officially completed land reclamation works of R. Dhuvaafaru on June 14, 2021.

At the moment, the shore protection works are moving forward according to schedule.

The R. Dhuvaafaru Land Reclamation and Shore Protection project includes:

The value of the project is MVR 143.11 million ($9.2 million).

For this job, the company sent their trailing suction hopper dredger (TSHD) Mahaa Jarraafu.

The project was contracted to MTCC in November 2020. MTCC CEO, Adam Azim, signed the contract on behalf of the company, while the Director General of Planning Ministry, Fathimath Shaana Farooq, put her signature on behalf of the Ministry.
