The release of these two documents represents a critical milestone in the permitting process for the project.
The Louisiana Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority (CPRA), the Environmental Law Institute (ELI), the Louisiana Trustee Implementation Group (LA TIG), and Restore the Mississippi River Delta have partnered to host three virtual webinars on the Mid-Barataria Sediment Diversion.
These webinars are an informal opportunity to learn about the project, the recently released documents, and how to provide formal public comments to USACE as part of the process.

The Mid-Barataria Sediment Diversion is one of the largest and most innovative coastal restoration efforts ever undertaken, and one of the largest environmental infrastructure projects in the history of the United States.
Earlier this month, LA TIG released a Draft Restoration Plan and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers released a Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS), triggering a public comment period on both documents that lasts until May 4, 2021.
