The Port of Palm Beach has just released this very interesting video named ‘Digging deeper into dredging of the Lake Worth Inlet’.
In the video, Port of Palm Beach Engineer, Ron Coddington , explains how much funding is allocated for a future dredge project, why dredging is important to the economy and how it will impact the neighboring communities.
At a meeting of the National Conference on Beach Preservation Technologies in St. Augustine, FL, earlier this month, Mr. Coddington presented a 15 minute paper on the Analysis of Shoaling at the Port of Palm Beach and the economic impacts to the Port.
The presentation was very well received and generated several questions about how the Port manages its controlling depths.
Mr. Coddington also discussed various aspects and solutions to the channel’s shoaling. These discussions and meetings will provide for a better understanding of the Port of Palm Beach and how shoaling must be addressed.
