Built by Onezhsky Shipyard in Petrozavodsk, the new vessel will join Taman subdivision of Rosmorport’s Azov-Black Sea Basin branch.

As reported, the 600 m3 hopper barge – with the homeport of Novorossiysk – will be involved in works as part of ATBs in the Azov-Black Sea Basin.

FSUE Rosmorport and Onezhsky Shipyard signed agreement for the design and construction of two 600 m3 hopper barges (the Morskaya / the Smelaya) in October 2018.

Naval architecture and marine engineering firm Spetssudoproekt designed the two self-propelled hopper barges of Project NV-600.

Following the delivery of Morskaya, the shipyard is planning to deliver the Smelaya later this year or in early 2021. The second hopper barge is currently undergoing start-up and commission of mechanisms and equipment before its deployment to the Makhachkala branch, stated Rosmorport.
