According to DFO-MPO, the maintenance dredging aims to provide safe and accessible facilities for local fishermen.

The scope of this project includes maintenance dredging of the channel and the basin.

Furthermore, the maximum volume of dredged material is about 4000m3, said DFP-MPO.

The proposed dredging will be carried out by means of a barge with opening bottom, a hydraulic shovel or a crane equipped with a half shell bucket.

Also, dredged sediments will be submerged at sea in an authorized disposal site (PD-6).

To help inform this determination, Fisheries and Oceans Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination.

Finally, the deadline for submitting the comments is December 3, 2020.
