Each contract was awarded to Luedtke Engineering Co., based in Frankfort, Michigan.

Buffalo District is proud to execute these contract awards to ensure the continuation of safe transport in Toledo Harbor,” said Lt. Col. Jason Toth, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Buffalo District commander. “We are grateful for the advocacy of Congressman Kaptur, as well as other state and local partners, who have worked hard to secure funding for these efforts.”

According to the Corps, Maumee Bay dredging will take place during August 2019 from the Maumee River mouth, extending out into the Maumee Bay navigation channel, and will result in the removal of approximately 500,000 cubic yards of material.

The Maumee River dredging is set to begin in October 2019. The contractor will perform dredging in the lower end of the river, near the river mouth and will dredge approximately 150,000 cubic yards of material.
