The trailing suction hopper dredger (TSHD) Deo Gloria started the latest Workington dredging campaign on Monday, 8th July 2019.

Under the cleanup plan, scheduled to be wrapped up in the following days, the TSHD is being involved in the dredging operations on the Bar, Channel, Turning Basin and Dock areas.

“Due to this vessel’s restricted ability to maneuver, mariners are advised to give the vessel a wide berth and to navigate with caution,” said the port.

According to their official announcement, the TSHD is displaying lights and shapes for a vessel of its type, as prescribed in the International Regulations for Preventing Collision at Sea.

Located on the west coast of the UK, the port is a strategic hub serving Northern England and Scotland.
