Royal Boskalis Westminster NV yesterday released an interesting video about a port construction and sandbar breakwater project in Nigeria.

In Lekki, 80 kilometers east of Lagos, the company constructed a new port and 700-meter-long sandbar breakwater for which Boskalis used the natural sand flow along the Nigerian coast.

For the construction of the sandbar Boskalis brought in three trailing suction hopper dredgers, the Argonaut, Shoalway and Shoreway.

The new port will be used for the supply of materials and other large components needed for the construction of the Dangote refinery.

Creating New Horizons in Port Construction – that’s what Boskalis did in Nigeria. An excellent example of Building with Nature!
