The Hong Kong Marine Department (MARDEP) has just released the latest update on the rock excavation and dredging works in Kwai Tsing Container Basin, saying that the project will continue for a period of approximately 3 months.
According to MARDEP, the operations will be carried out by a drilling barge, and one grab dredger, two split hopper barges and two tugboats will assist in the works.
The number of vessels engaged in the works will change from time to time to suit operational requirements.
A working area of approximately 150 meters around the drilling barge will be established.
Vessels engaged in the operations will display signals as prescribed in international and local regulations, said MARDEP.
