By teaming up, both companies can benefit from scaling-up and knowledge exchange and give a boost to innovation, such as ship automation, hybrid sailing and cybersecurity, Bakker said in its release.

RH Marine was founded in 1860 and has an extensive track record in defense, safety and security ships and megayachts worldwide. Bakker Sliedrecht will celebrate its centenary in 2019 and has a strong market position in the dredging and offshore market. Together, the companies employ over 700 experts.

“It’s a cooperation and not a merger,” said managing director Hugo Loudon of Bakker Sliedrecht and RH Marine.

The corporate culture of both companies matches well. Both rely on a rich history and a wealth of experience. The partnership between the two companies already shows concrete results. For example, Bakker Sliedrecht supported at the workshop of RH Marine and RH Marine’s experts were deployed in offshore projects of Bakker Sliedrecht.”

By collaborating the best of both worlds will be combined, which enables both companies to serve the global maritime industry even more efficiently by offering cross-market innovation, reliable system independent solutions and a unique set of specialized capabilities.
