Caledonian Maritime Assets Ltd (CMAL) said in its latest announcement that they will host a public meetings next week to update communities on the harbor revision order (HRO) needed at Tarbert (Harris) to allow the harbor improvement works to begin.
According to the official statement, to prepare for the new ferry that has been procured by CMAL, upgrade work is being proposed at the harbors at Tarbert (Harris), Lochmaddy and Uig, known as the Skye Triangle ports.
The proposed harbor improvements will include pier reconstruction and extension, seabed dredging to improve vessel access, land reclamation to increase the vehicle marshalling area and reconstruction of the terminal building.
Meetings will take place on Wednesday, June 27, at Harris Hotel in Tarbert with sessions between 4 and 5pm and later in the evening between 7 and 8pm.
