Hervey Bay Beaches to Get New Sand

Business & Finance

The Fraser Coast Regional Council announced earlier this week that the beach nourishment works have begun at the Hervey Bay.

According to the Council, the sand pushing and beach nourishment work started this week on Hervey Bay beaches between Beach Road and Dayman Park.

As part of the project sand is being removed from the mouth of Tooan Tooan Creek and being being placed in front of the Wetside Water Park,” the Council said.

The sand nourishment will help the beaches rebuild in winter ready for the northerlies in November and the king tides in January and February.

The Council also added that the beach access points will be closed temporarily on beaches where work is being undertaken.

The works are set to be completed by the end of June.
