The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Galveston District, announced last Friday the advertisement for bid invitations for emergency dredging near the West Fork of the San Jacinto River.
As USACE reported, the Government has a requirement to dredge and remove shoal material within the West Fork of the San Jacinto River from Interstate 69 to the confluence of Lake Houston.
Excessive debris from Hurricane Harvey is exacerbating and impeding the free flow of water down this portion of the West Fork of the San Jacinto River.
“ This multi-million dollar emergency dredging project funded by FEMA is a competitive contract ,” said Jeff Neill, Galveston District contracting chief , “ Bidders have until 2:00 p.m. local time, May 29, 2018. ”
Neill also added that bids will be opened, reviewed and the apparent low bidder will be announced.
