DCI Bags Cochin Port Dredging Contract

Business & Finance

Dredging Corporation of India Limited (DCI) has won a contract to carry out the $13.9 million maintenance dredging works at the Cochin Port for the year 2017-18, the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) said in their latest announcement.

In August 2017, the Cochin Port Trust announced tender for the 2017-18 maintenance dredging program, which is one of the major maintenance dredging projects in India.

The Visakhapatnam based dredging contractor has been carrying out the maintenance dredging works at the port continuously since 2011-12.

The bids were opened today and DCI stood as the lowest bidder, thereby successfully retaining the work in its order book for next year.

The Cochin Port dredging operations are to be carried out throughout the year by deploying two dredgers, according to BSE.
