CPRA Meeting Takes Place Today in Port Fourchon

Business & Finance

The next CPRA (Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority) Coastal Connections event is taking place today at the Moran’s Marina in Port Fourchon, Louisiana.

At the show, CPRA staff will provide more information about the Mid-Barataria and Mid-Breton Sediment Diversion projects and how they will help to rebuild and sustain Louisiana’s wetlands.

A cornerstone project of Louisiana’s Coastal Master Plan, the sediment diversion, is key to a long-term sustainable strategy to reduce land loss rates and sustain wetlands that were injured by the Deepwater Horizon oil spill, according to CPRA.

To assist with timely efforts for procurement and management of design, environmental requirements and construction of the Mid-Barataria and Mid-Breton Sediment Diversion Projects, the CPRA created the Mississippi River Mid-Basin Sediment Diversion Program.
