The Florida Inland Navigation District (District) has just released a tender for the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway (AIW) maintenance dredging project.

The project includes dredging approximately 170,000 cubic yards (cy) of material from two distinct areas of the AIW in Nassau County.

Dredging will excavate the AIW channel to a target elevation of -14 feet (ft) mean lower low water (MLLW) (-12 ft project depth plus 2 ft allowable overdredge).

Dredged material, removed via mechanical or hydraulic dredge, is to be offloaded at District-owned Dredged Material Management Area (DMMA) NA-1 located on Crane Island in Fernandina Beach, Florida and DMMA DU-2 located on Black Hammock Island in Jacksonville, Florida.

The project also includes an Alternate Bid Item for additional maintenance dredging of approximately 45,000 cy of shoal material at the Fernandina Harbor Marina. The successful Bidder will have 180 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed to complete the entire project.

Deadline for sending bids for the proposed project is July 1o, 2017.
