India to Host Ports and Dredging Event in February

The Coastal India Development Council (CIDC), in association with IIT Delhi, DCIL Visakhapatnam and under the guidance and co-partnership of Ministry of Shipping (GOI), will host the International Conference on Ports & Dredging during February 2017 in New Delhi, India.

The combined conference will focus towards enhancing the ports capabilities by doing the integration of the Indian major and minor ports across their coastline and will address the key innovations in the country’s dredging sector, the organizers said.

Having experienced fast paced growth of GDP in India, there is a sustainable and long term growth evident in its trade trends, they added.

The volumes of domestic and international trade are witnessing rapid expansion. These have increased the traffic volumes in ports and shipping sector over last few years.

The conference will address various issues, such as:

  • ports developmental aspects;
  • innovative research in the global port, maritime and dredging sectors;
  • presentations by eminent speakers from across the globe, etc.
