Marton West Beck Scheme on Display

Business & Finance

The Environment Agency will hold several meetings in January on a potential future scheme that should reduce the risk of flooding from Marton West Beck.

In its latest release, EA invited Middlesbrough residents to flood scheme drop-ins, asking for their views on a potential future flood scheme.

Representatives from the Environment Agency, Northumbrian Water and Middlesbrough Council will be available to speak to residents during drop-ins this month.

Environment Agency Project Manager Ted Thomas said: “We want to know more about flooding in the area and the previous experiences of residents so we can fully understand the flood risk.”

We also want to hear the community’s thoughts on potential flood defense improvements in the area. I’d urge people to come along to the drop-ins so we can gather as much information as possible.”

  • Friday 20 January / Glendale Road Green Space, TS4 3LN 10am-12noon;
  • Friday 20 January / Carnoustie Way Lay-By, TS8 9XH 1pm-3pm;
