Ouse Washes Meeting Announced

The Environment Agency is inviting people who live close to the Ouse Washes flood storage reservoir to a drop-in event.

They will have the opportunity to see plans of proposed bank works and to speak to the project team about them.

The first event will be held in Welney on Thursday, 24 November, at the new Welney Parish Village Hall and the second on Tuesday, 29 November, at Mepal Parish Village Hall, both from 11am to 5:30pm.

Investigation work was carried out in August 2016 in readiness for the main bank works to start in July 2017.

The project is being carried out by the Environment Agency with support from Middle Level Commissioners, Fenland District Council, Norfolk County Council, The Borough of Kings Lynn & West Norfolk Council, Cambridgeshire County Council, Natural England, Wildfowl Wetland Trust and the RSPB.
