GTIS Introduces New Multi-Functional Pontoon

Business & Finance

Saint-Petersburg based engineering company Global Technologies of Innovative Systems (GTIS) has presented a new multi-functional pontoon for dredging and underwater engineering operations.

GTIS Director General, Yevgeny Yeryomin, said that the construction was performed at the premises of Interferrum-Metal, stevedoring company operating at Big Port St. Petersburg, and tested in the water area of the port, according to IAA PortNews.

“It is a low-cost domestic solution allowing for maintenance dredging at seaports and rivers, as well as for dredging under large scale port projects. I’m sure our pontoon will be in demand, also among state customers. We count on finding a partner among Russian shipyards for building such pontoons,” said Yeryomin.

According to the head of GTIS, the development and implementation of the project involved the specialists of Krylov State Research Center which carried out the modeling works.

Multi-functional pontoon (Project 04043) is built as a platform for the following applications:

  • Dredging;
  • Underwater engineering operations;
  • Drilling at the continental shelf;
  • Cable laying;
  • Power supply;
  • Repair of onshore hydraulic engineering facilities.
