The Subcommittee on Water Resources and Environment, chaired by U.S. Rep. Bob Gibbs, will hold a hearing tomorrow on recently completed Army Corps of Engineers Chief’s Reports for proposed water resources development projects and two Post-Authorization Change Reports.

A Chief’s Report is the Corps’ final recommendation to Congress, after an examination of feasibility, cost and other factors, for a proposed water resources development project.

A Post-Authorization Change Report represents a proposed modification to a previously authorized Corps activity.

The Committee reviews recently completed Chief’s Reports and Post-Authorization Change Reports in its oversight of the Corps. The Committee will review reports it has received since its last review in May and the Committee’s subsequent passage of the Water Resources Development Act of 2016.

The hearing, entitled, “A Review of Recently Completed United States Army Corps of Engineers Chief’s Reports,” is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 15, 2016, in 2167 Rayburn House Office Building.

Major General Donald “Ed” Jackson, Deputy Commanding General – Civil and Emergency Operations, United States Army Corps of Engineers, will testify at the hearing.
