Restart of the Oceanside Harbor Dredging Project

Business & Finance

Progress on the navigational dredging project within Oceanside Harbor continued last week with the contractor, CJW Construction, returning to the site to restart the operations.

The contractor restarted the dredging on July 6th, and in just two days managed to remove some 5,000 cubic yards of material from the harbor’s entrance channels.

To date, CJW has dredged about 30,000 cubic yards of the 260,000 cubic yards designated for removal.

Material dredged from the entrance channels is being placed along Oceanside’s beach, beginning immediately south of the San Luis Rey River mouth to a point about 150 yards south of the pier.

Placement of material is currently occurring in front of the North Coast Village and will move south towards Surfrider Way in the next week.
