CMACS Becomes Part of NIRAS Family

NIRAS – providing professional marine engineering and environmental consultancy services for dredging and marine aggregates extraction sectors – has completed the acquisition of respected marine ecology consultancy, CMACS.

Following the acquisition, Dr Tim Norman, Managing Director of NIRAS Consulting Ltd, said: “I am delighted that we have joined forces with CMACS, who have a wealth of experience and expertise in marine and coastal ecology. Our combined teams now offer a full range of marine, intertidal and coastal survey and assessment services.

Dr Ian Gloyne-Phillips will manage the NIRAS coastal and marine ecology team which is based in Liverpool. Dr Terry Holt becomes Technical Director, based in the Isle of Man.

NIRAS now employs a dedicated UK team of 35 professional marine consultants based in Cambridge, Dorking, Glasgow, the Isle of Man and Liverpool and has experts in:

  • Marine civil and structural engineering;
  • Planning and consenting;
  • Environmental Impact Assessment;
  • Ecology and ornithology;
  • Survey and monitoring;
  • Data management and GIS.
