The Port of London Authority has just announced that on or about 29th June 2016, contractors working on the Tideway Tunnel Project will start works which will involve extending Chambers Wharf approximately 35 meters nearer to the Southern edge of the channel.

These operations will include dredging, diving, sheet piling and back filling operations and will be conducted by using a variety of barges including crane barges, tugs and multicat vessels.

“No vessels other than those engaged in the works, or those using Chambers Wharf with prior consent of the Harbor Master, shall enter the construction area,” said the Port in its announcement.

The works are expected to last approximately 8 months.
