Total Marine Wins Tairua Wharf Project

Business & Finance

Total Marine Services has been awarded the tender for the Tairua Wharf Project, according to the Thames-Coromandel District Council.

The $1.4 million scheme involves rebuilding works on the existing wharf and taking the opportunity to widen it to allow permitted vehicles (emergency/commercial) to use it.

The boat launch ramp will be widened and extended with two pontoons brought in for extra safety.

“Total Marine Services has a proven track record and has extensive knowledge of Tairua, having been involved in the build of the Tairua Marina,” said Tairua-Pauanui Area Manager Garry Towler.

“We hope to lodge building resource consents at the end of June if all goes to plan with our preparatory work,” added Mr Towler.

If the consent process takes longer than planned, the project could start in late July or early August.
