Saudi Border Guard has acquired two Damen cutter suction dredgers (CSD 450) for harbor maintenance duties.

Two CSDs 450, with a maximum dredging depth of -12 m and a mixture production of 3,000 m³/h, were to be fitted out with an extensive list of options, including an accommodation unit and positioning, navigation and communication equipment.

Beside these, the independence of the dredgers was assured adding the anchor boom installation, and the efficiency was boosted by adding a spud carriage pontoon.

The delivery also included two complete dredging packages.

These packages consist of both stationary dredgers plus their floating and shore pipe lines, a full set of spares and training. This training will be given to the crew on the job.

The cutter suction dredgers will be based at different border guard stations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Jeddah on the Red Sea and Dammam in the Gulf Ara.

They will perform various maintenance dredging jobs independently, such as clearing the areas at jetties and keeping harbors to depth.
