Business & Finance

The dredging operations have been completed at the Mallacoota Ocean Access Boat Ramp and the boat ramp has been reopened for traffic by the East Gippsland Shire Council.

The excavation dredging included the mobilization of plant and equipment to the Boat Ramp site and lower car park.

This is the first time since the ramp was opened in December 2014 that the Shire had to engage a contractor to remove sand deposits at the ramp.

Works on the project began on March 18th and were expected to be completed by March 22, but because of the weather conditions the project was extend to Friday, March 25.

The dredging is part of the Shire’s operations and maintenance environmental management plan for the boat ramp.
