In order to celebrate the “Company of the Year 2015” (Onderneming van het Jaar) award, last week, DEME brought its trailing suction hopper dredger Congo River in Antwerp, giving the public opportunity to tour the vessel.

TSHD Congo River, one of the newest ships in DEME fleet, has the hopper capacity of 30,190 m³. The contract for the design, construction and delivery of the vessel was signed between DEME and IHC Dredgers BV in December 2008.

The ship was named during a formal ceremony in Zeebrugge, July 8th 2011, by the designated godmother, olympic tennis champion Justine Henin.

DEME has just posted this beautiful photo of the Congo River on its official facebook page.
