2015 Houston Dredging Summit ‘on Schedule’

Business & Finance

The recent devastating floods that hit Texas will have no effect on the upcoming Dredging Summit and Expo to be held, June 22-25, in Westin Galleria, Houston.

According to the hotel management and the conference planners, the Westin Galleria is back to normal and fully functional as of this week. They did experience some flooding, isolated in the lower level of the parking garage and loading docks. This flooding only impacted their operations on Monday & Tuesday May 25th and 26th.

The organizers said that there will be no impact on the conference or the exhibitor shipments to the loading docks. Furthermore, the airports and public transportation systems in Houston are completely operational, reporting no delays or detours.

2015 Dredging Summit and Expo is being organized by the Western Dredging Association (WEDA) and Texas A & M University. The theme of this conference “Dredgers, the Environment and Commerce” will focus on the people and organizations that make dredging happen, and the environmental and commercial impacts of dredging.
