JULONG has completed construction of a 18/16 inch cutter suction dredger for a Nigerian customer. The dredger, named PAULINA, will perform maintenance duties in and around the River States.

As all JULONG cutter suction dredgers are dismantled prior to delivery, the transport was straightforward. The various elements such as the pontoons and control cabin were hoisted from the transport ship onto trucks. The crew together with a JULONG field service engineer assembled the cutter suction dredger on a nearby beach using hoisting gear available locally.

The PAULINA, equipped with accommodation, will perform maintenance duties at a dredging depth of 16m. The dredge pump has a mixture capacity of 3.200 m³/h and with its respectable swing width of 40m her performance is impressive.

The dredge project will start immediately as the JULONG delivery included 1000 meters of floating pipe line & land based pipe line, a complete tool package and two weeks of crew training by JULONG field service engineers.
