The Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce (GPCC) has provided a federal legislative update on policy issues important to the region’s business community.

The priorities will act as part of the advocacy agenda that the Chamber will discuss with Members of the region’s congressional delegation as well as Executive Branch officials in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday, September 17.

Delaware River Main Channel Deepening Project

“ The Chamber and CEO Council were pleased to see an increased level of funding to $35 million for continued progress toward the completion of the Delaware River Main Channel Deepening Project in the President’s Budget Proposal, ” announced the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce.

“ We will continue to work with our Congressional Delegation to ensure that Congress approves at least as much FY15 funding for dredging as was seen in the President’s proposal. Deepening the Delaware River shipping channel will allow our region to remain competitive in the global marketplace and assure the future economic health and vitality of the Delaware River maritime complex.”
