Corps Prepares Burns Harbor Dredging Project (USA)

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Chicago District, has unveiled a plan for the Burns Harbor dredging scheme.

The harbor is divided into two areas: East and West Arms (EWA) and Outer Harbor-Approach Channel (OH-AC).

The dredged material from EWA will be disposed at the Deep Water disposal site and material from OH-AC will be placed at the Ogden Beach site.

The estimated cost of this cleanup program, located in Portage, Indiana, is between $1 mln and $5 mln.
