Damen has commissioned the cutter suction dredger “Qing Jiang” in China. This dredger has been delivered to CCCC Tianjin Dredging in 2013.

As Damen cutter suction dredgers can be dismounted completely, transport by sea was straightforward.

All components were hoisted into the transport vessel at Rotterdam harbour, and they were discharged at Guangzhou Huangpu Old Port. From there trucks delivered the various modular elements to the quay at the Mao Wei Sea where the pontoons were assembled on land, and the spuds, ladder and control cabin afloat.

The Damen Field Service engineer assisted the crew during reassembly and stayed 2 weeks for crew training.

The CSD500 already started its maintenance job in the Mao Wei Sea in southern China.
