Yesterday, Governor Bobby Jindal announced the appointment of Henry Baptiste to the Pontchartrain Levee District.
The Pontchartrain Levee Board is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the levees and maintaining the levee drainage systems within East Baton Rouge, Iberville, Ascension, St. James, St. John the Baptist, and St. Charles Parishes.
Baptiste will be appointed to serve as a representative of East Baton Rouge Parish, nominated by one or more legislators, as required by statute.
