Jan de Nul Completes First Phase of Sabetta Port Dredging

The Federal Marine and River Transport Agency has announced that Jan de Nul has completed the first phase of dredging operations in Sabetta Port.

From August 2 until October 9, the company dredged 10 mln cbm of material.

The dredging project is scheduled for completion in 2016. During the 2014-2016 period, the fleet of Jan De Null is expected to dredge up to 70 million cbm of material. The seaway canal will be 49 km long, 295 m wide and 14 m deep.

Port Sabetta will be capable of handling gas carriers with length of up to 300 m, width of up to 50 m and cargo tanks capacity of up to 170,000 cbm.
