The Hobsons Bay City Council has commenced the Altona Safe Harbour dredging program.

Dredging works on the harbour access channel and along the breakwaters will be carried out by a cutter suction dredge. Dredged material is to be deposited for beach renourishment to the foreshore area at the Seaholme Foreshore intertidal zone opposite Burns Reserve.

On-water plant, equipment or potential hazards to navigation will be marked as per IALA standards. Mariners are advised to exercise caution and proceed at a safe speed when navigating in the area and observe the displayed day marks on the dredge.
