Bogota to Host XXII Latin American Congress of Ports

The XXII Latin American Congress of Ports Colombia 2013, organized by the American Association of Port Authorities, will be held in the city of Bogotá, June 25th to 28th, 2013.

Authorities and Executives from International Private Terminals, Maritime and Naval Businessmen, Suppliers, Public Officials, Professionals, and the AAPA Leaders will be attending the most important business summit of the ports industry, which has been convened under the motto: “The Integration of Latin American Ports with the World, in the Era of Free Trade Agreements and Common Markets.”

In order to promote the growth of Iinternational trade through rivers and maritme routes, this event represents an opportunity for the updating, the dialog and the commercial exchange among port authorities and service providers on issues related to sector activities in the Americas and the rest of the World.

The meeting will have a combination of social and learning activities in parallel to the opportunity of introducing products and services, and strengthening networking. International experts will address such issues as: The World Economy and its Impact on the International Ports Business; The Opportunity of Colombian Ports in the framework of Free Trade Agreements and Common Markets; The Integration of Latin American Ports with the World; Security as a Necessary Requirement to Competitiveness; Ports and Shipping lines: Shared Commitments and Responsibilities in Environmental Matters; Port Infrastructure and Port Projects in the Americas: Integration, Complementarity and Competition, among others.
