The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Norfolk District has a requirement for dredging a segment of the Waterway on the Coast of Virginia (WCV) Federal Navigation Project.

The work in Wachapreague Channel consists of maintenance dredging to a required depth of 6 feet MLLW with one foot of allowable overdepth. The dredging involves approximately 40,000 cubic yards of material, including allowable overdepth dredging and estimated accretion to March 2013.

This work shall be performed by a hydraulic cutterhead dredge and pipeline method with all dredged material transported and placed inside an authorized 1,000-foot by 1,000 foot overboard placement site within Bradford Bay.

The cost of this project is estimated to be $500,000.00-$1,000,000.00.
