New Surge in Interest in Kizad

The headline in Abu Dhabi’s The National newspaper reflected the announcement by Tony Douglas, CEO, ADPC, that enquiries in Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi (Kizad) saw a dramatic increase following the launch of the showcase and adjacent Khalifa Port on 12/12/12.

A delighted Mr Douglas said of the 420 square kilometre Kizad, which forms part of the megaproject which will grow into one of the largest in the world within 20 years: “The number of enquiries, both national and international, has shot up in the last week. That’s something I don’t think we were expecting.”

Mr Douglas added: “2013 is the year that Khalifa Port is going to grow more rapidly than it was ever able to do in the past because capacity was constrained at Mina Zayed, the historic city centre port. Now people can see all the variables are in place, Kizad will grow very rapidly during 2013 as well.”

Also speaking at the ceremonial signing of the 30 year Container Terminal agreement between ADPC and Abu Dhabi Terminals, Martijn Van de Linde, CEO, ADT said: “We can now focus on improving speed and customer service. We expect to see between now and next year an improvement of between 20 and 30%”.
