USA: Wachapreague Channel Dredging Set for 2013

According to the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, the dredging project to restore navigation in the Wachapreague Channel will likely not begin until spring 2013.

Col. Paul B. Olsen of the Norfolk District Corps of Engineers gave the new date in an Oct. 2 reply to a September letter sent by Accomack County Board of Supervisors Chairwoman Laura Belle Gordy, reports delmarvanow.com.

“ My staff and are committed to dredging the channel as soon as we secure the necessary environmental approvals and execute a dredging contract,” Olsen stated.
