On August 15, CCCC Shanghai Dredging Co. Ltd. signed a contract with Shanghai Mudflat Reclamation Co. Ltd. for (Phase 6) enclosed reclamation works in Hengsha Dongtan, with a construction period of 39 months.

Located on the eastern shoal in Hengsha Island between the north port and north waterway of the estuary of the Yangtze River, in the frontal belt of the east of the Yangtze River Delta, the zone involved in the project will be fully reclaimed with the earth dredged from the dredging works of the 12.5-meter deepwater channel at the estuary of the Yangtze River, with a reclamation area of 32.34 square kilometers, interiorly, the enclosed zone will be divided into four subzones from west to east through 1, 2, 3 and 4, with an area of 9.77 square kilometers, 7.65 square kilometers, 8.48 square kilometers and 6.44 square kilometers respectively, and total reclamation quantities of 74.64 million cubic meters.
