Georgica Beach Replenishment Set for April (USA)
Restoration work necessary for dealing with erosion at Georgica Beach and damage caused to the road-end by Tropical Storm Irene is organized, however East Hampton Village has postponed the work until spring.
The village submitted an application for $231,000 of reimbursable expenses and only 87.5% has been approved. The Federal Emergency Management Association will provide 75% and 12.5% will come from the state, Cantwell stated on Tuesday.
Keith Grimes Inc., of Montauk, has received the bid for the road-end and replenishment work for $51,256.
According to Cantwell, Grimes will commence the work in April and complete it by June 15.
